The Pollinator Warrior Program

Inclusive education through bees, nature, and connection

At Norma May Honey, we believe education should feel like connection, not pressure.

The Pollinator Warrior Program was created to ensure that every child, no matter how they learn, has access to meaningful, engaging, and inclusive education.

Because the way a child learns is never the problem.

The environment is.

Where This Began

It’s about using our voice to educate.

Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as valuable to the caterpillar as it is to the child.

Because when we teach children to care, to notice, to connect, we are shaping not just knowledge, but empathy.

Education That Includes Every Child

And through the power of stingless bees, we can educate neurodivergent students while connecting them to the power and importance of the natural world.

This is what inclusive education looks like.

It looks like:

🐝 Slowing things down

🐝 Creating safe, sensory-aware spaces

🐝 Letting children engage in their own way

🐝 Removing pressure and expectation

Because not every child thrives sitting still at a desk.

Some thrive with their hands in nature.
Some thrive through experience.
Some just need to feel safe first.

Equal Access Matters

These students should be allowed the same access to education about pollinators as those in mainstream schools.

Because inclusion is not a bonus.

It is a necessity.

Every child deserves the same opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with the world around them.

Thoughtful Support for Every Child

We take extra care to ensure children feel safe, prepared, and supported during our sessions.

I know basic Auslan to help communicate with non-verbal children, creating more opportunities for connection and understanding.

I can also provide a social story for autistic children before our visit, helping them feel comfortable, prepared, and confident in what to expect.

Because feeling safe comes before learning.

Recognised Impact

A Personal Mission

This program is deeply personal.

I am an ADHD woman, and I know firsthand that learning does not always look the way the system expects it to.

And that is not something that needs to be fixed.

It is something that needs to be understood.

The Pollinator Warrior Program is built on the belief that different minds are powerful, and every child deserves to feel capable, included, and seen.

As a 2026 Queensland Agrifutures Finalist, this work is being recognised for its impact in educating communities across regional and rural Australia.

We are proud to bring inclusive education into spaces where access is often limited, ensuring no child misses out.

Raising Pollinator Warriors

We are not just teaching children about bees.

We are raising a generation that:

  • Cares about the environment

  • Understands their place in it

  • Knows they belong in the learning process

Because inclusive education does not just change how children learn.

It changes how they see themselves.
